Tropical green smoothie

Winter can seem a little endless sometimes here in the UK, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get our tropical on in the comfort of our own homes right? Our five ingredient tropical green smoothie might not come with a side of sandy beaches or even a cocktail umbrella, but it’s super tasty, really good for you and reminds us of wonderful holidays in far-flung locations (sigh).

Every ingredient in this drink is totally loving your body in their own special way – bananas are packed with slow-release energy and potassium (which is great for cardiovascular health as well as helping to prevent muscle cramps), mangoes are full of cancer-preventing antixodants and vitamins A, C and E as well as also being great for keeping your skin all glowing and gorgeous, spinach has lots of iron and is fabulous for maintaining bone health, coconut water has heaps of amazing electrolytes which are great for workout recovery and good old H2O is of course super hydrating and therefore keeps all your organs functioning properly as well as being great for your skin and energy levels.

Add all these incredible ingredients together and you get something that not only does you a huge amount of good but also tastes like a cocktail. So whizz one up, get your bikini on, run a little bath, dip your toes in and dream of sunnier climes (bikini and bath optional of course).

Ingredients

Serves 1

  • 1 banana, sliced and frozen
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 cup water

Simply pop the ingredients in a blender and whizz up for a minute or so until it’s all lovely and smooth. Grab a glass and get dreaming of tropical sunshine!

Love, Mrs H xx
