
Whenever I go and visit my cousins in Israel, I end up on the aubergine diet. I just can’t help it – though I may flirt with hummus, falafel, israeli salad and shakshouka, if I see a menu and there’s an aubergine on it, it’s all I can think about ordering. Acai bowls are taking the world by storm – and for very good reason. Give me a breakfast that looks like a sorbet and tastes like a sorbet, but is actually amazingly good for you and well, I’m sold. I’ll admit that here at D&H we are perhaps a little late to the acai bowl party as it seems people have been going mad for these for some time now, but we’re definitely making up for lost time!

Baked vanilla donuts with chocolate frosting
It’s Hanukkah this week, so to celebrate I wanted to make a recipe for guilt-free donuts. It might seem a little random but there is a reason behind it – the Hanukkah story talks of the miracle of the oil, whereby oil that would have only kept a special lamp alight for one day actually lasted eight days – and because of this it’s traditional to eat foods cooked in oil, like donuts or potato latkes.I’ve used a little coconut oil in these as a nod to tradition but unlike normal donuts these are baked (not fried) which makes them heaps healthier but just as yummy!
