If you didn’t know it by now, I am quite the matcha maniac. And for good reason – matcha (which is powdered green tea leaves) contains heaps of antioxidants which protect your body from harmful free radicals, as well as caffeine and and amino acid called L-theanine, which work together to improve alertness and concentration. It’s worth mentioning here that the caffeine found in matcha is different to that found in coffee as whilst it gives you a lovely little buzz, it does so without the jitters and comedown you might get with your morning espresso.
This matcha milkshake is such a fabulous pick me up, perfect for a morning boost or to fight a mid-afternoon slump. It’s super hydrating, and all the almond-y goodness gives you loads of good fats and protein. Plus the banana is an amazing source of energy too! So put down the sports drinks, tea, coffee, and red bull, and make yourself a glass of this instead. You won’t regret it!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups almond milk
- 1 banana
- 1/2 tsp matcha powder
- 1 tbsp almond butter
Simply add all the ingredients to a blender and whizz for a minute or so until it’s all lovely and smooth. Pour and enjoy!
Love, Mrs H xx
