I’m a hummus addict. I always have some in the fridge and I tend to dollop a huge spoonful of it onto pretty much every meal I’m having, breakfast sometimes included. A girls gotta get her plant based protein in right?

Welcome to the cookie revolution. Chocolate chips are out, and stuffing your cookies with as much gooey, chocolatey, hazelnutty filling as possible is IN. You heard it here first people. Continue reading

Magnums for me send me right back to summer holidays on the beach. Every day after lunch my dad would declare it was ‘about time for an ice cream’ so off we’d trot to the nearest ice cream van or shop and make our selections. It was a very tough decision making process, especially as there were always so many that took our fancy.

Is there anyone who didn’t make rice crispy treats when they were little? Surely not. They are the epitome of baking for beginners, the perfect little foray into the world of sweet treats and one of my favourite things to teach when I’m running a baking class for people who were born on the right side of the year 2000.

Rocky road is one of my favourite things ever – the crunchy biscuit, the chewy raisins and all the chocolate – we’re basically talking perfection here. We’re also talking a very indulgent and often sugar-laden dessert but what if I told you that these balls are just as good, if not better!

Every year Mr H and I say we are going to go strawberry picking, because let’s face it, nothing beats British strawberries and the concept of being able to secretly stuff our faces with them while no one is watching sort of appealed to us too.

I got a little bit obsessed with turmeric lattes (no caffeine + actually good for you = winning) but I was spending a small fortune on them every week so decided to give making them at home a go. I made this shake a couple of weeks ago because I fancied something a little bit indulgent, it was a hot day (well for May anyway) and I was craving cookies and cream.
Turns out that this delightful beverage not only hit the spot BIG TIME in my book, but Mr H loved it too and has been requesting it ever since. It has most certainly therefore become the flavour of the month as far as shakes are involved! Continue reading

Coconut and chocolate are pretty much a match made in heaven, wouldn’t you agree? There’s something amazing about rich indulgent chocolate combined with sweet creamy coconut that just hits the spot. Coconut is also the best dairy substitute around in my opinion, there’s coconut cream, coconut milk, coconut butter – everything dairy can do coconut can do too!

Nothing beats a good royal wedding, especially when the weather is going to be nice too (which it does always seem to be for royal weddings) so that we can all celebrate outside with a glass of Pimms in one hand and cake in the other. Continue reading
