Dessert nachos

Nachos. I mean what’s not to like, right? Except these ones are a little different, because I’m sure you know I have a rather big sweet tooth (or in fact a mouth full of them). You see what you might not know is that nachos work amazingly as a dessert dish too, because the combination of sweet and salt, smooth and crunch is something you won’t believe until you try it.

These are also incredibly easy to make, no real ‘cooking’ required, but I wanted to share a ‘recipe’ on here, not so much to explain the method, but more to give them the credit and the airtime they deserve. All you need is some tortilla chips, chocolate to melt, yogurt of your choice, a nut butter and some berries to pop on top and job’s a good ‘un.

Makes one sharing plate of dessert nachos

Ingredients

  • A ‘sharing’ bag of tortilla chips
  • 2 bars of chocolate (approx 140g)
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup yogurt of choice
  • Punnet of strawberries or other berries

Arrange the tortilla chips in a large bowl and spread them out evenly. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan with two inches of water in on a low heat, and while this is melting, dollop on the peanut butter and yogurt. Drizzle the melted chocolate and top with sliced berries. Dig in straight away, no time to waste!

Love, Mrs H xx
