Heavenly raw chocolate tart

We’re not going to mess around here guys. You need to make this tart. Honestly, you need to go to the supermarket, buy the ingredients (there’s only seven so it won’t take you long to grab them all) and make this tart. Then you need to eat this tart. Oh, and if you’d like to invite us round to try it we’ll be right over. See you in half an hour? OK!


For the base:

  • 2 cups dates
  • 2 cups porridge oats
  • 1 1/2 cups cashews
  • 2 tbsp cacao

For the filling:

  • 1 cup dates
  • 2 ripe medium bananas
  • 1 ripe medium avocado
  • 3 tbsp cacao
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • Cacao nibs (optional – for decoration)

In a food processor, first blend the dates until they form a sticky paste. Then add the cashews, oats and cacao and blend until all the ingredients are mixed together. Add in a little water if the mixture is not all sticking together. Spoon the mixture into a round cake tin or pie dish and pop it in the freezer to cool.

To make the filling, blend the dates in a food processor, then add the bananas, avocado, cacao and coconut oil and whizz until creamy and delicious! Take the tart base out from the freezer and spoon in the filling. Decorate with cacao nibs and freeze for a couple of hours. Once frozen, move onto a plate and refrigerate until serving.

We hope you love it – it’s currently our go-to dessert to take over to friends barbecues or dinner parties, it always goes down an absolute treat even with the most healthy-averse eaters!
